OMIŠ, 9 March 2023 – Dignitaries, including the Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković, were in Omiš today attending the official ceremony of the joining of the Cetina bridge.

Today marked another stage in the works on the Omiš bypass, which is one of the most demanding Croatian construction projects ever.

The bridge, which is 224-metres long and 70 meters above the River Cetina connecting the Komorjak and Omiš tunnels, is part of the Stobreč – Dugi Rat – Omiš fast road project.

The 358 million euros project will alleviate the traffic jams that happen every summer in Omiš along the Adriatic highway from Split to Omiš.

The bridge is expected to be open for drivers this autumn.

Not long after the bridge’s ceremonial connection today, Croatian Roads released a short video summarising all the events of the day.
