VIDEO: Advent in Zagreb officially opened as first candle lit

ZAGREB, 2 December 2023 – Advent in Zagreb officially opened this afternoon with the lighting of the first advent candle at Manduševac fountain on Ban Jelačić Square.
Advent in Zagreb festivities will last until January 7th.

After the lighting of the first candle this afternoon, the official opening of Ice Park on Zrinjevac took place before the Christmas lights were turned on.
In addition to last year’s locations at the European Square, Zrinjevac, and Strossmayer Square, new locations within the pedestrian zone, the Croatian National Theatre and on Ban Jelačić Square have been introduced for this advent.

The popular gastro events such as Fuliranje on Strossmeyer Square, Slatki Zrinjevac on Zrinjevac, and fooling around on the terrace of Esplanade Hotel will again attract large numbers of people.
There will also be a number of concerts taking place during advent, and the first time, festivities will also come the city park Ribnjak, where the “Moon Garden” will be located.
