Ultra Music Festival To Pay For Damage To Hajduk Split’s Pitch

The organisers of Ultra Music Festival, which was held in the Croatian city of Split last weekend, will have to pay for damage caused to the pitch of Hajduk Split football club, reports daily Slobodna Dalmacija.

As can be seen on the photo (above), the turf at Split’s Poljud stadium was damaged during two days of Ultra Music Festival last weekend when over 30,000 filled the stadium on both days, but the organisers have agreed to pay for the damages. Hajduk Split reportedly were paid over 100,000 euros for the rental of their stadium to Ultra Festival Music organisers. It is not the first time concerts have caused damages to football pitches in Croatia. In 2009 officials at Zagreb’s Maksimir stadium ordered the pitch to be ripped up following damage from a U2 concert.
