According to the data from 1 – 4 July 2016 there were 371,602 registered tourist arrivals and 1,706,840 overnight stays in Croatia. The first weekend of July saw the most arrivals come from Slovenia, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland and Austria.

The most visited destinations in Croatia in the first weekend of July were Rovinj, Poreč, Dubrovnik, Medulin and Umag.

The data revealed that 35.8% of overnight stays were recorded in private accommodation, whilst 22.9% were in hotels and 21.1% at camp sites.

“Although we have just entered July, results from the first weekend show that we have moved into the main part of the tourist season. Ahead of the Croatian tourist sector is a period where Croatian destinations will see the largest amount of tourists and will achieve the best results and traffic for the year,” said Croatian Tourist Board Director Ratomir Ivičić, adding that he was also very satisfied with the tourism results in the first six months of the year.
