The highest-paying professions in Croatia currently

The average net salary in Croatia last year was 1,139 euros, marking a 14% increase compared to the previous year, according to data from the MojPosao service as part of their research on labor market trends for 2023, leading job-seeking portal Moj Posao reported.

The median salary is slightly lower at 1,028 euros, meaning that most citizens earned slightly below the average.

It’s interesting to note a decrease in the number of citizens earning less than 750 euros, while a total of 69% of citizens earn between 751 and 1,500 euros.

Cloud engineers top the list of highest salaries by profession, earning 3,121 euros, surpassing pilots (2,760 euros) who were second on the list.

IT architects follow with the third-highest salary of 2,397 euros.

On the other end of the spectrum, the lowest salaries are earned by cleaners (677 euros), seamstresses (673 euros), and tailors (622 euros).

Best-paying jobs in large private foreign-owned companies

Salaries in private companies under foreign ownership are 7% higher than the average, amounting to 1,222 euros. On the other hand, the earnings of employees in predominantly domestically-owned private companies are 4% lower than the average (1,092 euros).

According to Moj Posao data, average salaries in state-owned companies hover around 1,088 euros (5% below the average), while the monthly earnings of workers in public and local administration stand at 1,039 euros (9% less than the average).

Zagreb leads the way 

The highest salaries continue to be in the city of Zagreb. The lowest salaries are found in Virovitica-Podravina (-19%) and Vukovar-Srijem (-19%) counties. The highest average salary is recorded in the city of Zagreb (10% above the average) at 1,256 euros (median 1,133 euros).
