At the annual conference of the International Ice Cream Manufacturers Association, King Harmony won silver in the Most Innovative Ice Cream category, while Ledo was also awarded for the best technical solution related to its investment in production last year.

Zagreb, February 23, 2024 – King Harmony, a pistachio and berry ice cream from Croatia’s leading producer Ledo, is a combination of unusual flavours and textures that ice cream experts rated as one of the most innovative of the past year.

Awarded the Silver Prize in the Most Innovative Ice Cream category by the IICC (International Ice Cream Consortium) at its regular annual conference, after presentations and tastings of ice creams produced around the world.

The way King Harmony combines the luxurious flavour of pistachio ice cream enriched with a soft pistachio topping, immersed in a rich berry fruit topping and Belgian white chocolate has now received international recognition.

“It’s phenomenal to win awards for our ice creams year after year, which we are so proud of. We nominated King Harmony in the most innovative ice cream category precisely because of the atypical combination of pistachio, berry fruit, and white chocolate. Consumers have responded excellently to this innovation, and this professional confirmation gives us an extra boost. We are excited to soon introduce more innovations in the King portfolio to the market and believe that we will continue to delight King enthusiasts,” said Andrea Klišanić, Marketing Manager of the Adriatic cluster from Ledo plus company.

The annual conference of the International Ice Cream Manufacturers Association was held later than usual this year due to the unstable situation in the host country. Nevertheless, returning from Guatemala, Ledo brought back two awards.

Recognition in the technology category

In addition to ice cream, Ledo also won an award in the category related to technology. Specifically, the reconstruction of the ice cream freezing tunnel at Ledo was recognised as the best technical solution last year.

“Our investment cycle in production capacities and automation has been recognised, which speaks volumes about the technologies we are introducing into production. We plan to surpass the complexity and quality of investments in the existing line, for which we have now received recognition. This year, preparations for the extrusion line, which will produce our premium segment ice creams, primarily King products, are already underway. It is a line worth around 4.2 million euros that will make us an even more modern producer of high-quality ice creams,” said Andy Michaux, General Manager of Ledo.
