Stimac Names Squad For Serbia

There were no real surprises when Croatia coach Igor Stimac named his squad for two World Cup qualifiers later this month against Serbia (Zagreb, 22 March) and Wales (Swansea, 26 March).

There was room for recently arrested Brazilian-born midfielder Sammir and also for veteran Mladen Petric.

“I am happy with how the players have been playing (for their clubs) but I am most happy that they are fit. We will have some time to work together. Only slight problems we have with Radosevic and Kovacic, they are our future, they have left their clubs Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split, and have not had much game time,” said Stimac.

The full squad is: Pletikosa, Subašić, Krešić; Ćorluka, Srna, Šimunić, Schildenfeld, Strinić, Vida, Lovren; Ademi, Rakitić, Badelj, Kranjčar, Vukojević, Modrić, Kovačić, Sammir, Perišić, Radošević; Mandžukić, Olić, Eduardo, Jelavić, Petrić and Kalinić.
