Croatian tennis player Borna Ćorić (21) has upset the no.1 seed at the Shanghai Masters.
Ćorić has reached his first Masters 1000 tournament final after beating Roger Federer in straight sets 6-4. 6-4.
“It was one of the best matches of my life,” the Croatian said after beating the 20-time Grand Slam champion.
The Croatian, who will achieve a career-high ranking of 14 in the world on Monday, will meet Novak Djoković in the final after the Serbian beat No. 5 Alexander Zevrev 6-2, 6-1 in the other semi-final.
“Today, really, I just came on the court with absolutely no pressure,” Ćorić said. “I basically didn’t care, and that’s why I played so good.”
Ćorić broke Federer in the opening game of each set to earn his second victory over the Swiss in the last few months.

“He had more punch on the ball. He served better,” Federer said. “I got off to a bad start in both sets. That combination is plenty here in Shanghai with fast conditions.”
The final will be played on Sunday in China.
