Sandra Perkovic up for European Athlete of the Year Award

Croatia’s Olympic gold medal winning discus thrower Sandra Perkovic has been nominated for the 2012 European Athlete of the Year award.

Sandra is amongst 15 European athletes who are up for Europe’s prestigious athletics award, including Ana Cicerova, Jessica Ennis and Julija Zaripova. Voters can vote for the 22-year-old World and European champion on the official website of the European Athletics Federation until 26 September.

The European Athlete of the Year award has been around since 1993, with this year being the award’s 20th anniversary.
