Ricardo Villalobos

World-famous DJ Ricardo Villalobos will be playing at Zagreb club Best this Friday night.

The 46-year-old Chilean-born German DJ and producer is best known for his minimal techno and microhouse work, and is one of the most significant figures in today’s minimal techno scene.

Villalobos is the creator of some of the most ambitious electronic music in the past 20 years. His most recent work can be heard only at parties on weekends.

Born in Chile, Villalobos grew up in Berlin and has a very interesting musical story. His big influences in the early years were bands such as Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode, as well as first editions of Detroit techno.

“When the music connects people, no matter what kind of music, it has a powerful healing effect on society”, says Ricardo.

The venue is almost sold out for Villalobos’s 18 November gig in the Croatian capital, which will be his first. Sonus Festival #welovesound presents the event which will also feature by Ian F. from Slovenia and Sergej Snooze.
