Record Number of Flights in Sky Above Croatia

CroatiaAir traffic controllers at Croatian airports definitely earned their salary on Saturday when a record number of flights hovered above Croatia…

There were 2,520 flights in airspace under the jurisdiction of the Croatian Air Traffic Control (HKZP) yesterday, most of which were flyovers, a record this year and also breaking last year’s record when 2,511 flights flew in Croatian airspace on 10 August 2013. Out of the 2,520 flights, 542 landed or took off from airports in Croatia, the remainder just flew through Croatia’s airspace. The number of flights under Croatian Air Traffic Control jurisdiction has risen around 5% from last year, thanks in part to airspace above Kosovo being opened up.
