Qatari Delegation In Town Aiming To Seal Energy Sector Deal

A Qatari business delegation has touched down in Croatia for a 3-day visit where they hope to bring a deal regarding  investments into the energy sector in Croatia closer to realisation.

The delegation, which includes a group of engineers and economists, visited land in the small town of Omisalj in the north-west of the island of Krk where an LNG terminal is to be built, before setting off for the capital Zagreb where they will meet with delegates from Croatia’s Economy Ministry.

It was earlier announced that Croatia was seeking financial help from the Qatar Investment Authority and Macquarie Group Ltd to build a liquefied natural-gas terminal on the island of Krk after securing a supply deal with Qatargas. Qatargas will supply liquefied gas for the Krk-based LNG terminal over the next 25 years.
