From 1 August it will no longer to possible to purchase a ticket for one of Zagreb’s trams via mobile phone. Sending a sms message in exchange for a ticket on the tram will become a thing of the past as Zagreb Electric Tram (ZET) clamped down on fare avoiders. Many tram riders in the city have sms messages ready to send if they see an inspector enter the tram, if they do not then they simply do not send the message and travel for free. Many commuters say that the exorbitant prices of single ride tickets forces them to avoid paying fares.
