[PHOTOS] Over 10,000 in Costume at Famous Rijeka Carnival

One of the biggest carnivals in the world, the Rijeka Carnival held in Croatia’s third largest city, has concluded on Sunday with more than 10,000 people taking part in the traditional Carnival parade…

Close to 115 carnival groups, including some from Italy, USA, Slovenia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Macedonia, dressed up in a range of colours, costumes and characters as they showed their creativity as they made their way on floats in downtown Rijeka. The International Carnival parade draws people from all around Europe and has been a February tradition in the city since 1982, with more than 150,000 visitors this year.
