Croatia’s first green asphalt bikeway being laid

On Tuesday, the asphalt paving of the Greenway project in the Croatian capital of Zagreb began. 

Green eco-friendly asphalt is currently being laid covering the section from Blato to Savski Bridge, which spans 1.66 kilometres.

“For the first time in Croatia, we will have a bicycle path paved with eco-asphalt, which is produced at the Asphalt Base of Zagreb Roads in Rakitje,” the City of Zagreb said.

After the paving, landscaping work will follow, including the installation of benches and equipment, as well as final work at the rest area near the pedestrian bridge.
