Croatia will be trying to defend their impressive unbeaten record against the Italians behind closed doors at Split’s Poljud stadium on Friday evening.

“We will work on what we worked on before the match in Milan, we will not be too intense because we know that it is the end of the season now and we want to be right for Friday. There are no favourites for the match, us and the Italians are on a par. Form on the day could decide it, but a big tragedy for our football and people is that there will be no fans, It is not a pleasant experience but we will not use it as an alibi”, said Kovač.
Biggest applause of the day was reserved for Ivan Rakitić
Kovač, who will be without the services of Luka Modrić, Dejan Lovren and Vedran Ćorluka on Friday, says that despite going for the win on Friday, he would also be satisfied with a draw.
