Dubrovnik Airport has welcomed passenger number 2 million for 2017.
On Friday just after 12:00 pm Stephanie, who was on board Croatia Airlines flight OU 4467 from Zurich, was the lucky 2 millionth passenger to arrive at Dubrovnik Airport on Croatia’s southern Dalmatian coast.
She was presented with a gift from the airlines and also Dubrovnik Airport, as well as a special cake.
It is the first time in history that the airport has handled 2 million passengers in a year showing just how busy the record-breaking 2017 tourist year has been.
Croatian airports have had a bumper 2017. In the first seven months of the year, 5.2 million passengers passed through all airports, 17.7% more than in the same period last year.
Earlier this week one of Dubrovnik’s main attractions, the City Walls, welcomed its millionth visitor for 2017 for just the second time in history.
