Original Venetian Gondola Rides Now on Croatian Coast

No need to go to Venice for a romantic gondola ride, as a Croatian entrepreneur starts gondola rides on the Dalmatian coast for tourists.

Damir Mišetić transports tourists in his original Venetian gondola in Trogir’s channel on the Dalmatian coast.

His original gondola, which can fit up to 8 people, is 11-metres long and weighs 600 kilograms, and is the first service of its kind in Croatia. Check out the video below:

Damir gives the tourists the full service and even will serenade them with Dalmatian klapa, however with it being difficult to row and sing at the same time he will get something on board to lightly play the Dalmatian sounds.

Damir first came up with the idea of the gondola service in Croatia’s UNESCO-protected city five years ago, and after he visited family in Venice he discovered that they still had an original gondola and the idea started to take shape.

Since he has started his romantic gondola rides in Trogir, there has already been one marriage proposal on board.
