Not All Bad News for the Travelling Croatian Fans

It wasn’t all bad news for the travelling Croatian fans, even if Tuesday’s loss to Scotland meant that a playoff beckons.

While commentators and bloggers were busy calling for Igor Štimac to step down from a disastrous spell in charge of the national team, one Croat (with some help from the Scottish Football Association) was busy making sure that the night would be unforgettable for he and his now-fiancee. Dejan Hajduković, CEO of HAGR, during the break, had arranged with the SFA to make use of the big screen in Hampden Park in order to propose to his girlfriend Ivana. With a resounding YES the stadium erupted into cheers.

Dejan is involved with charitable work with both Firefly, a cancer charity, and the Zagreb branch of the Tartan Army. Most recently he launched the Let’s Talk Series, events designed to help non-Croats feel more comfortable living here.
