NK Rijeka Advance in UEFA Champions League Qualifying

Croatian champions Rijeka edge closer to the UEFA Champions League (HNS)

Croatian champions NK Rijeka have cruised into the third round of UEFA Champions League qualifying.

NK Rijeka took a 2-0 lead into their return match away to Welsh side The New Saints on Tuesday night and showed their class with a convincing 5-1 victory to win 7-1 on aggregate.

NK Rijeka’s goals came via Matei just before halftime, a double from Gavranović, Gorgon in the 61st and Ristovski three minutes later.

The Croatians will most likely face Red Bull Salzburg in the next round as they take a 3-0 lead into their return match against Maltese side Hibernians which will be played on Wednesday.

The first match will be played on 25 or 26 July 2017, with the return legs a week later on 1 or 2 August 2017.
