Kovač will cut seven players before the squad heads off to Brazil and will name his final squad of 23 after Croatia’s friendly with Mali on 31 May in Osijek.

Croatia’s Word Cup Squad:

Goalkeepers: Stipe Pletikosa, Danijel Subašić, Oliver Zelenika

Defenders: Vedran Ćorluka, Dejan Lovren, Gordan Schildenfeld, Darijo Srna, Šime Vrsaljko, Domagoj Vida, Ivan Strinić, Danijel Pranjić, Igor Bubnjić

Midfielders: Luka Modrić, Ivan Rakitić, Niko Kranjčar, Mateo Kovačić, Ivan Perišić, Ognjen Vukojević, Milan Badelj, Marcelo Brozović, Mario Pašalić, Sammir, Ivan Močinić
