Neja Markičević’s EU Entry Pic Wins Photo of the Year Award

A photo looking down on festivities held to commemorate Croatia officially joining the European Union on Zagreb’s main square has won the 2013 Croatian Journalist Photo of the Year. The winning photo, taken by CROPIX’s Neja Markičević, was taken from the window of the Zagrebačka banka building on the east side of the ban Jelačić square as dignitaries and officials welcomed Croatia into the EU on 1 July 2013. Markičević beat 21 finalists to claim the award.
