Marin Čilić Starts French Open Campaign with Convincing Win

Čilić, playing in his first major tournament since returning from a shoulder injury which kept him out of the Australian Open, was too good for 80th-ranked Robin Haase on Tuesday winning comfortably 6-2, 6-3, 6-3.

Čilić joins Borna Ćorić in the second round, after the 18-year-old beat big-serving American Sam Querrey in four sets yesterday 7-6(8) 6-3 0-6 6-3. Another Croatian teen, Ana Konjuh, also won her first round match in the women’s draw.
