Marin Čilić gathering Croatian sporting legends for tennis spectacle in Zadar

Marin Čilić & Friends back for the 3rd Annual Game Set Croatia. Čilić and fellow Croatian athletes join the Foundation’s event in Zadar 

Zadar, Croatia (July 15) – The Marin Čilić Foundation announces the third edition of Game Set Croatia will be held on July 16th and 17th in Zadar, Croatia.

The coastal city of Zadar will play host to Croatia’s storied athletes as part of the Game Set Croatia charity event, aiming to raise funds for the construction of a multifunctional sports playground for children of Petar Zoranić Elementary School in Stankovci, Zadar County.

Marin Čilić will be joined by fellow Croatian sporting legends to convey the importance of an active lifestyle & healthy habits to children across Croatia.

In addition to tennis players Mate Pavić, Nikola Mektić, Borna Gojo, and Donna Vekić, the tournament will feature the most celebrated athletes of Croatia, including Luka Modrić, Eduardo da Silva; FIFA World Cup finalist Šime Vrsaljko; retired goalkeeper of the Croatian national football team, Danijel Subašić; the Sinković Brothers; basketball players Ivica Zubac, Dario Šarić, Andrija Stipanović, Ante Žižić, and Zoran Planinić; Olympic taekwondo gold medalist Matea Jelić; skier Filip Zubčić; table tennis player Andrej Gaćina; handball greats Manuel Štrlek, Ivano Balić, and Luka Cindrić; Croatian karate ace Anđelo Kvesić; Croatian national team goalkeeper & player of Italian Serie A club Juventus, Doris Bačić; and Croatian volleyball player Igor Omrčen.

This unique project seeks to provide children with safe spaces to play, foster healthy habits, and educate them about the importance of physical activity from early childhood. Sport influences not only the physical and health aspects of development but also spreads messages of peace, friendship, and equality among people, which is the key message of the project.

The first day of activities will kick off July 16th when Marin Čilić, fellow athletes and gathered children will play tennis in front of St. Donat Church in Zadar. The Kid’s Day programming will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Registration for the Kids Day have begun and are active on the official Facebook and Instagram channels of the Foundation. From 2:00 to 11:00 p.m. on July 17th, at the pool terrace of the Višnjik Sports Center, educational workshops for children and various promotional and entertainment activities for the whole family will be organized in the Tennis Village.

Some of the themes include self-care, nature, and sustainability. In addition to the main televised competition taking place from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on the central tennis court of the Sport Center Višnjik, visitors will have the opportunity to socialize and enjoy the various programs prepared. For visitors without tickets, the final matches will be broadcasted on a video wall.

All program details, workshop schedules, and the final list of event participants are available on the Foundation’s website and official Facebook and Instagram channels. Only a few tickets remain, and they can be purchased on entrio.hr. The live broadcast of the matches on July 17th will be featured on Doma TV, starting at 7:00 p.m.
