26 April 2019 – One of the most important contracts in the history of Rijeka tourism has been signed today. Representatives of the Hilton Hotels & Resorts global brand have signed an agreement to take over the Costabella Luxury Resort & Spa which is under construction, RTL reports.
The Hilton-operated hotel will have five stars, which in itself speaks of the importance, scope and reach of this job. The resort will feature 198 rooms, of which 132 are part of the hotel and 66 will be villas. A fitness centre, kid’s club, restaurants, bars and other entertainment facilities will also be at the resort.
The complex will have a 30-meter hotel pool, children’s pool and jacuzzi and a wellness area of over 4,000 m². The outdoor heated pool will be 50 m long. From the pool there will be an elevator to a path down to the promenade to a 200 m long beach. There will be mooring spots for tourist boats to rent and also two 80 meters long pebble beaches.
The Hilton in the Costabella resort will be one of the most modern and best Hilton hotels in this part of Europe.
The hotel and spa is currently being built by Czech group JTH on around 2 hectares of land in the Rijeka suburb of Kostabela.
Present at today’s signing at the Costabella resort were Rijeka mayor, Vojko Obersnel, his deputies Marko Filipović and Nikola Ivaniš, the head of the City Council, Andreja Poropata, and other guests.
“Thanks to this investment, Rijeka will get in an extremely attractive location a modern tourist complex that will enable the creation of new jobs and will be a significant wind in the sails for further development of Rijeka tourism,” said Mayor Vojko Obersnel as he toured Costabella’s construction site.
The hotel is set to open in the spring of 2020.
