Luka Modric: “Happy I Will Play In My First Champions League Semi”

“I am happy that for the first time in my career I will be playing in a Champions League semi-final. If you look at both matches, we deserved to go through,” said Real Madrid’s Croatian midfielder Luka Modric after his side progressed through to the final 4 of the UEFA Champions League, despite going down 3-2 to Galatasaray in Istanbul last night.

Modric turned in a solid performance, one that earned him a kiss and a hug from Jose Mourinho and a 3.5 out of 5 score on popular football portal Goal.com. Only one Real Madrid player received a higher score, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Modric was not holding back in praising his team-mate last night.

“Ronaldo is always there when he is needed the most, he scores every time its needed. It’s not surprising, he is the best player in the world,” said Modric.
