Light Plane Crashes into Cafe in Istria

CroatiaStaff at a cafe in the Istrian town of Vrsar have cheated death on Friday after a light plane crashed onto its terrace on Friday morning, reports Glas Istre…

Luckily there were no injuries when the light sports plane crashed onto the terrace of Bistro Aerodrom at the Vrsar Sports Airport just before lunch time on Friday. Police confirmed that the light plane crashed onto the terrace of the cafe at the sports airport at 11:41am on Friday.

“I saw it coming, or landing on the runway, and then going straight into my terrace. Just a few minutes earlier I was with my staff sitting on the terrace drinking coffee, and the plane stopped at the table we were sitting at. I don’t know what to say, it is our first day we have opened this year, and we could have died. Luckily nobody was injured,” said cafe owner Igor Popović to Glas Istre.
