Early next year at the latest, seats for jumbo jets and other planes and trains could be produced in Croatia. Austrian company Wollsdorf are set to invest 6 million euros in a factory in the northern Croatian city of Varazdin, bringing with it over 300 new jobs.
Wollsdorf, founded in 1932, is one of the world’s leading producers of leather interiors for the aviation industry. Besides Croatia, the Austrians are considering investment possibilities in Hungary, Slovakia and Romania, says daily Jutarnji list. Wollsdorf have been in the Varazdin area where they have held meetings with local heads, and according to reports are in the process of registering a company in Croatia.
The first phase of investment would see 300 new jobs created, which could extend to 450 as it develops.
