Croatia international Ivan Rakitić will debut a ‘revolutionary’ new pair of football boots by adidas this weekend…

adidas launched the new laceless Ace16+ Purecontrol boot this week, and Rakitić will debut the ‘ground-breaking’ new boots for Barcelona against Malaga on Saturday 23 January. The design of the Ace16+ Purecontrol boot could be a game-changer in the way players kick the ball.

Laces have always had an effect on how players pass and shoot and they have been removed from this new design.

“These boots are really comfortable – adidas have done it!” Rakitić told Goal.com, before adding.

“Comfort is the most important thing for me. I like to wear the same pair of boots until they’re broken but these are already really comfortable and I’ll wear them until they get really old. I use the same boots for games and training – except if I have bad luck for three or four matches…”.

The new boot, which has been developed since 2014, will also be worn by Arsenal star Mesut Ozil this coming weekend.
