Hvar to host UEFA Executive Committee meeting

Croatia popular among tourists with 870,000 currently in the country

UEFA confirmed today that Croatia will host an Executive Committee meeting in September this year.

The leadership of the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) had expressed interest in hosting a meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee, and today UEFA accepted the proposal with the meeting of this key UEFA body to be held on September 21 on the island of Hvar.

“We look forward to holding this meeting in Croatia and having the opportunity to further explore your beautiful country,” reads a letter signed by UEFA Secretary General Theodore Theodoridis.

“I thank President Alexander Ceferin and the UEFA leadership for the great trust they have shown us. We are pleased with this decision because it confirms the excellent status that HNS enjoys in UEFA, and I am convinced that we will once again prove ourselves as excellent hosts and capable organiSers of such events,” said HNS President Marijan Kustić.

The UEFA Executive Committee last met in Croatia in 2013, when the meeting took place in Dubrovnik.
