Greece Culturcide Offender Arrested in Croatia

Ruins_of_Ancient_ThiraPolice in the Southern Dalmatian city of Dubrovnik have arrested a 56-year-old German national wanted by Interpol for culturcide offences in Greece, reports daily Slobodna Dalmacija.

The man, who was picked up by Croatian police on a European arrest warrant in Dubrovnik, was wanted by Greek authorities for severley damaging one of Greece’s ancient archaeological sites. The name and location of the archaeological site was not revealed, but the daily speculates that it was a site on one of the Greek islands. The German national, who reportedly escaped into Croatia from Greece via Albania and Montenegro, faces extradition.
