LidlGerman global discount supermarket chain Lidl are planning an assault on the Croatian market…

Lidl Croatia are expected to end the last financial year, when ends at the end of February 2015, with a gross turnover of a massive 4 billion kuna (520 million euros), which is growth of 8% from the previous financial year. Lidl Croatia’s CEO Boris Lukšić expects net profits to be 100% more than which was forecasted.

Although Lukšić would not confirm how many new Lidl supermarkets would open in 2015, Jutarnji list reports that Lidl plan to increase the number from 86 to 120 supermarkets. Lidl, who are based in Neckarsulm, Baden-Württemberg, Germany and operate over 10,000 stores across Europe, plan to enter the US market in 2018.
