After some Croatian fans expertly photshoped an image of legendary Croatian singer Mišo Kovač onto the t-shirt of Gareth Bale, it looks as if Real Madrid’s new €100 million signing will be donning a TV shirt with a print of the famous moustachioed singer on it after all.
Yesterday Bale’s Real Madrid team-mate and huge Mišo Kovač fan Luka Modric was presented with two special Kovač t-shirts by the team at Nova TV and Gol.hr in Zagreb, one for him and one to give to Bale.
“I think Medium will fit him,” said Modric when presented with the t-shirts. Modric has promised to send a photo from the dressing room at Madrid with Bale in his new t-shirt.
Born in 1941 and renowned for his impressive moustache he wore throughout his career, most of Kovač’s songs were inspired by Dalmatian folk music, and he quickly established himself as the most popular musician of the former Yugoslavia. Kovač won many prestigious festival awards, topped music charts and sold vinyl discs, cassettes and CDs in record numbers over a two decade period. His song “Dalmacija u mom oku” (Dalmatia In My Eye) was and still is seen as a semi-official anthem of Dalmatia.
