Free Croatian online courses live

ZAGREB, 15 December 2018 – A free online Croatian language course, designed for people with Croatian heritage abroad as well as anybody interested in learning the language, went live on Friday.

The free online Croatian language courses, which include both level A1 and A2, has been created by the Central State Office for Croats Abroad in Zagreb together withCroaticum – Centre for Croatian as a Second and Foreign Language.

Level A1 of the course went live last year with Level A2 becoming available on Friday. More than 1,500 people, mostly people with Croatian heritage living around the world, have passed the first level.

Each unit consists of a listening text or individual words, practicing pronunciation, repetition, writing and comprehension of understanding.

Since the Croatian language is an inflected language and is therefore morphologically demanding, in each lesson (with useful everyday phrases and basic vocabulary) grammar is also taught.

Instructions and support are available online in English and Spanish, and users can log on for the course using either a Facebook or Google accounts.

Level A1 is available here: https://a1.ffzg.unizg.hr

Level A2 is available here: https://a2.ffzg.unizg.hr
