Starting from 30 April 2026, United Airlines will introduce direct flights between Newark (New York) and Split, marking the first-ever direct air connection between Split and the United States.
The service will operate three times a week, making United Airlines the only carrier linking the US and Croatia next summer.
The route will be served by a Boeing 767-300ER, one of the airline’s wide-body aircraft, which will also become the first regular wide-body jet to operate from Split Airport.
United’s new route forms part of its expanded summer 2026 flight schedule, which includes new services from New York to Split, Bari, Glasgow, Santiago de Compostela, and Seoul, as well as Washington to Reykjavik.
During the summer season, the airline will offer nearly 3,000 international round-trip flights, connecting more than 150 destinations worldwide, 41 of which are not served by any other US airline.
Split – New York Flight Details
Flights will depart Split Airport at 10 a.m., arriving in New York at 2 p.m. local time. Departures from Newark are scheduled for 5 p.m., landing in Split the following morning just before 8 a.m.
The new service is expected to operate until early September 2026. Ticket prices have yet to be announced.
This new route offers travellers from Dalmatia and beyond a direct link to the United States for the first time.
Patrick Quayle, United Airlines’ Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances, commented:
“United has an unmatched international network, and we are proud to connect our customers with unique, in-demand destinations that no other US airline serves.”
With this move, Split joins Dubrovnik and Zagreb in welcoming a growing number of transatlantic visitors, further strengthening Croatia’s position as a sought-after European destination for American travellers.
