Finally a Roof for Croatia’s National Stadium

Croatia“I will renovate Maksimir stadium by the end of 2015!,” announced the Mayor of the Croatian capital Zagreb Milan Bandić at a council meeting on Thursday morning…

After more than a decade of debate about what to do with the roofless, decaying national stadium, it looks like that a plan has finally been put in place by the City of Zagreb. Bandić said that the time has come to finally sort the issue of the nation’s national stadium out.

“The roof will be financed through an international tender. The south and east stands will also go up for tender, and a budget rebalance in 2014 will provide funds from the budget for the north and west stand,” said the Mayor, who is adamant that in this, his fifth term at the helm, Maksimir stadium upgrade will be completed, reported daily Jutarnji list.
