One of Zagreb’s most loved winter dining traditions is back. From Monday, 12 January to Sunday, 8 February 2026, Hotel Esplanade Zagreb invites guests to enjoy Esplanade Štrukli Days at its popular Le Bistro restaurant.

During the promotion, Esplanade’s famous baked štrukli will be available for a special price of €11 per portion, offering a perfect reason to enjoy this iconic comfort dish during the colder months.

January and February are ideal for slowing down and enjoying familiar flavours, and few dishes evoke warmth and tradition quite like štrukli.

Served in the relaxed yet elegant ambience of Le Bistro, where Parisian charm meets timeless sophistication, Esplanade štrukli are more than a meal, they are a culinary ritual deeply rooted in Zagreb’s food culture.

Esplanade štrukli have enjoyed cult status for decades. Handmade daily using carefully selected fresh ingredients, they are prepared according to a recipe that has been perfected in the hotel’s kitchens for more than 70 years.

The dough is kneaded and stretched until almost transparent, filled with fresh cottage cheese, gently shaped, steamed, and finished by baking in rich cream until golden.

The result is a distinctive texture, soft and creamy inside with a lightly crisp top, and a balanced, comforting flavour that has made them a favourite among both locals and visitors.

Each serving includes two baked štrukli, which can be enjoyed as a starter, main course or dessert.

They can be served savoury or sweet, with a pinch of salt or a touch of sugar, depending on preference. Guests can also complement the dish with a glass of wine or sparkling wine from Le Bistro’s selection.

Štrukli, a traditional specialty from Croatia’s Zagorje region, have been part of Hotel Esplanade’s culinary identity since 1951, when they were first served at prestigious events as a representative of regional cuisine.

Over the decades, they have become a symbol of craftsmanship, quality and respect for local tradition.
