The FIFA World Cup kicks off today in Russia and World Cup fever is everywhere.

Although the United States did not qualify for this year’s World Cup, the country got into the spirit by showing off the colours of the sides taking part in Russia on one of the country’s most iconic buildings.

Last night the Empire State Building in New York lit up in Croatian colours as it rotated the colours of all 32 countries participating in this year’s World Cup.

The World Cup opens on Thursday when hosts Russia plays Saudi Arabia. Croatia’s first match is on Saturday against Nigeria. Check out a look at their chances in Russia here.
