Scottish singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé will perform for the first time in Croatia at St. Michael’s Fortress in Šibenik this summer.

Sandé will perform at the stunning fortress venue, which is one of the most beautiful stages on the Adriatic, on July 15, 2023.

This will be the 10th jubilee concert season at St. Michael’s Fortress in Šibenik and apart from Sandé, organisers say fans can expect some other names to perform also this summer season.

The unique open-air concert stage at St. Michael’s Fortress, which has 1,077 seats, opened in 2014 and has hosted over 200 different events since opening – from opera and ballet to rock festivals and electronic music shows.

The award-winning Scottish musician with a powerful voice was first noticed in 2009, and her career has been on a constant upward trajectory since.

Sandé was the British ‘number one singer’ three times with the songs ‘Read all about it’, ‘Next to me’ and ‘Beneath Your Beautiful’. Her first album ‘Our Version of Events’ held the top spot in the UK charts for ten consecutive weeks and in 2012 became the best selling album on the ‘island’ with over a million copies sold.

In the same year, Sandé performed at the opening of the Olympic Games, and won two Brit Awards – for British album of the year and for best female singer.

“When we talk about creativity, creating music and good lyrics, honesty and raw emotions are my keys to success. If I have to work on a song for more than a day, I probably won’t return to it”, says the celebrated singer who will perform songs from her four albums in Šibenik – the award-winning debut ‘Our Version of Events’, ‘Long Live the Angels’, ‘Real Life’ and ‘Let’s Say for Instance’.

“I want all sides of me as a musician to be exposed to the audience, that’s why it’s very important for me that the music is connected to the lyrics, that I create songs that the audience can relate to, and not one-off pop hits”, said Sandé, whose work and the life of music icons like Joni Mitchell, Lauryn Hill and Nina Simone, but also the incredible Frida Kahlo, whose portrait she proudly wears as a tattoo on her arm.

Tickets are available from today at Eventim and City Point of Šibenik Culture Fortress. The first 300 tickets are available at a price of 69 euros, after which the ticket price will be 79 euros. The Friends Club of Šibenik Fortresses gets a 10 percent discount at City Point.
