Two Croatian beach towns on 10 Best in Europe list

Europe is dotted with charming beach towns, each offering its own unique blend of sun, sand, and culture. 

Recently, UK newspaper, The Guardian, unveiled its list of the ’10 Best Beach Towns in Europe,’ with two in list located in Croatia.

First on the list is Šibenik, which The Guardian describes not too far away from being a mini-Dubrovnik.

They say that whilst isn’t quite as famous as Dubrovnik, it shares the same beautiful Venetian-style buildings and red-roofed houses, without the big crowds.

It’s perfect for exploring, from the seafront promenade to the stunning cathedral and the maze of narrow streets that lead up to St Michael’s Fortress. Banj beach is nearby, with clear waters and amenities like a restaurant and a play area. You can also take boat trips to the untouched islands of the Kornati archipelago.

Cavtat 

Also on the list is Cavtat, as The Guardian says, is lovely seaside town in Dalmatia, boasting charming red-roofed houses encircling a small bay. It’s about 13 miles from Dubrovnik, across the water.

Along the waterfront, you’ll find cozy cafes and restaurants, some owned by families for generations. There are spots for swimming in clear water, and boat taxis to Dubrovnik and the Elaphiti islands. You can also take a scenic walk through the woods and enjoy sunset drinks at beach bars along the way.
