Dinamo Zagreb find out UEFA Champions League qualifying opponents

NYON, 19 June 2019 – Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb has learned their UEFA Champions League second qualifying round opponents this afternoon after the draw was made in Nyon. 

The second round draw has pitted Dinamo Zagreb against either FC Sheriff Tiraspol from Moldova or FC Saburtalo from Georgia who meet in the first qualifying round. 

The tie between FC Sheriff Tiraspol and FC Saburtalo will take place on the 9/10 and 16/17 July.

Dinamo Zagreb will be the away team in the first leg of the which will be played on 23-24 July. The return leg at Maksimir stadium will be placed a week later on 30/31 July. 

Dinamo Zagreb will be hoping to qualify for this year’s Champions League after a good run in the Europa League last season which saw them beaten by Benfica in the last 16.

Meanwhile, Hajduk Split will face Gzira United from Malta in the first qualifying round of the 2019/2020 Europa League. If they progress, they will face the winner of the FK Venstpils v Teuta tie. 

Osijek will play the winner of the Mladost Podgorica and CSKA Sofia first qualifying round tie in the second round.
