Digital Nomads are Taking Over Croatia

fb

Kimmoy, Katelyn and Fernanda, collectively known as the Trio, are currently in Croatia discovering the local culture until 29 August with 70 other digital nomads from 15 different countries…

August marks the month that a Trio from Canada, Brazil, and the US Virgin Islands will be exploring the coastal lifestyle that Cavtat and neighboring regions has to offer as part of the Remote Year program. These three women, collectively known as Trio Travel Marketing (Trio) are not here on vacation. They are purposefully seeking one-of-a-kind experiences that venture off the traditional beaten path in hopes to separate themselves from the typical travel marketers. Katelyn mentioned, “We don’t just want to share tips and tell people what to do, we want to take them on a journey with us and have them feel as if they’re right here with us.” Fernanda from Brazil echoed that it should be organic and very natural. “We don’t want to come off like an advertisement. Nobody buys from ads.” Kimmoy said “When you live and work in a country like Croatia, people want to know how they can do the same, so we are here to show them.”

The Trio have already met with Dubrovnik and Cavtat Tourism boards – you can imagine that local companies will be excited to sponsor and work with them. Last month, the Trio yielded great results for Spirit Slovenia by extending their campaign to 150,000 people on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. They also increased the popularity of the hashtag #ifeelsLOVEnia by approximately 250% – in only two weeks. It was such a fun campaign and it shows in the engagement and awareness they were able to bring to Slovenia. Mateja Bauman, the Marketing Communications and PR lead of Spirit Slovenia bid the Trio farewell “It was a blast having you here!”

“Do they even work?” is the question that many people ask. “Of course we do, the beauty about being a digital nomad is that we can work anywhere there is a great wi-fi connection.” Most of the time, we are glued to our laptops at Hotel Croatia with 70 other digital nomads. Otherwise, we’re out meeting with clients and sharing our experiences with the world. That is our job. So, feel free to send us insider tips!” You may find them perusing the beaches, enjoying the views from the City Walls, or taking a ride on the cable car. Don’t be shy to ask for a selfie. The more they meet, the better.

Trio Travel Marketing (Trio) is a digital marketing agency that promotes to an international market of over 150,000 people online. They connect brands, experiences and destinations through an organic approach. They specialize in accelerating campaigns and effectively extending the reach of campaigns to provide a stronger return on investment than traditional advertising methods.

Marketing Trio Nomads

Who are the Trio?

Fernanda Prats

I traded my uber urban way of living working as a stylist in São Paulo, Brazil for a Digital Nomad experience. There are no guarantees I will keep an eye on fashion and trends, but I really want to explore the world with all my senses. I love to glimpse how people express themselves and I want to inspire them in return. My new obsession is to assemble trios with images, ideas… and even professionals! I think 3 points of view can tell the most vivid story. I ride a bike like a kid and drink coffee like a Pro. pratserie.com

Katelyn Smith

Born in Canada, I prefer to think of myself as a citizen of the world. Working in the advertisng and tech world, I needed something beyond a cubicle which is why I now work remotely. My passion is exploring and discovering the uniqueness of the world. My blogging approach is to convey my experiences of adrenaline activities, nature, mind & body wellness, and any person or any business that is doing some good for the world. I know a fair amount of sign language and my goal this year is to become fluent in Spanish. theremotenomad.com

Kimmoy Matthews

Born and raised on the tiny island of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. I’m an Engineer turned technical writer and currently seeking new business opportunities across the world. As I travel and explore and new places and people, my blogging approach is to take you on the journey with me. Outside of traveling, dancing is one of my biggest passions. For the longest, my dream was to be a backup dancer for Janet Jackson but for now, my goal is to make it to her concert. A strange fact about me is that I eat cereal with warm milk because I love soggy cereal. On the flip side, I love snacking on crunchy treats – salty or sweet. keepingupwithkimmoy.com
