Croatia defender Dejan Lovren is giving away his shirt he wore in his side’s 3-0 win over Argentina.
The Liverpool FC centre-back wants to thank fans for their support by giving his shirt away.
“Dear fans, thank you for the messages of support. As a sign of thanks, I will give away my shirt I wore in the match against Argentina. The winner will be the person he writes the best fan message for our national team. I will choose the lucky winner tomorrow. Good luck,” Lovren wrote.
Immediately he had some of his own teammates wanting to win the shirt, including captain Luka Modric.
“Is this also valid for me,” Modric commented.
Lovren has been outstanding in Croatia’s opening two games, leading the back four to two clean sheets. With a UEFA Champions League runners-up medal, it has been a great end to a tough year.
