Crook Steals Coins From Zadar Tourist Attraction

CroatiaPolice in the Dalmatian town of Zadar in Croatia are on the look out for a thief who stole hundreds of kuna from one of the towns main tourist attractions.

Zadar’s version of the ‘wishing well’ on Petar Zoranić square, a glass construction where tourists throw coins into it for good luck, was smashed on the weekend with the crook making off with the takings from the busy summer. The Zadar ‘wishing well’ was not intended to be a wishing well at all, but when builders made a mistake in the construction and left a gap in the join, locals and tourists alike began throwing coins into it. All summer tourists have been throwing coins inside, creating a nice little earner for one opportunist thief. (pic: ezadar)
