Croats in Madrid

The support of Real Madrid and Croatia midfielder Luka Modrić in the stands was not enough to help Croatian tennis star Marin Čilić advance through to the 4th round at the Mutua Madrid Open yesterday…

Čilić lost to Ernest Gulbis in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 on Thursday as Madrid based Modrić popped down with a number of Real Madrid players to give support to his countryman. While Cristian Ronaldo was watching Rafael Nadal play on centre court, Modrić took time to talk to Čilić’s coach Goran Ivanišević.
