Spanning along the highway and the Sava River, all of the destinations in Brod-Posavina, the southern Slavonian county in eastern Croatia, are easily and quickly accessible. With only two cities, it stands as a rural oasis.

The main attractions of the region are family farms (OPGs), traditional farms called “salaši,” and ranches that offer authentic experiences, unspoiled nature, and preserved cultural values alongside rich Slavonian cuisine.

The Brod-Posavina County has become increasingly attractive to tourists, evident by its consistent growth in tourism results.

From the beginning of this year until June 30th, this Slavonian county recorded the highest growth in overnight stays in Croatia.

With a total of 35,685 overnight stays, of which 18,043 were from domestic guests, there was a staggering increase of 42.55 percent compared to the first six months of 2022 when the county had 25,033 overnight stays.

“This is the result of continuous investment in tourist products and amenities, intense promotion in domestic and foreign markets, cooperation between the public and private sectors, and recognition of the needs and demands of tourism trends. The strategic development of tourism is based on rural and green, eno-gastronomic offerings in the border region of Posavina, complemented by a rich cultural heritage of our two cities – Slavonski Brod with its unique Fortress, the Ivana Brlić Mažuranić Interpretation Center, a beautiful promenade along the Sava River, and the baroque center of Nova Gradiška. Our rich traditional and urban events also contribute to excellent tourism results, and throughout the year, our county offers something for everyone,” says Ružica Vidaković, the director of the Tourist Board of the Brod-Posavina County.
