This year, the work “Šuran – Biodynamic Wines” by Studio Tumpić/Prenc from Croatia has been included in the permanent exhibition at the Red Dot Design Museum in Singapore, as an example of good design and the winner of the Red Dot Design Award in 2021.

Established in 2005, the museum embodies the international Red Dot Award, and what lies within this prestigious glass building is a collection of winning works that extend throughout the museum, including the museum shop, café, and exhibitions.

The museum’s permanent collection includes exceptional design pieces that have been “sealed” with Red Dot quality through a rigorous evaluation process.

The Red Dot Award has been presented since 1955 and has gained global recognition, making it one of the most prestigious awards in the field of design. Consequently, the awarded works gain international reputation and positioning.

Two years ago, the work of Studio Tumpić/Prenc was recognised, and a displayed sample of the label for the premium organic wine from the Šuran Family Farm is now situated in a cult location in Singapore, where a large number of visitors can view it throughout the year.

According to the Studio, the label idea relies on the most important characteristic of this wine, which is enriching the soil with natural preparations.

These preparations significantly increase microbiological activity, depicted in the layers of the soil. These layers are composed of microorganisms in the shape of letters from a quote by the Italian scientist and activist in the Slow Food International movement, Carlo Petrini, promoting ecological awareness.

The text itself is minimised and invisible to the naked eye, just as the increased activity of the soil under the influence of microorganisms is invisible. However, to enable the text to be read, a magnifying glass is incorporated into the packaging lid, inviting consumers to interact and become acquainted with the values of biodynamic farming.

“It is a great honour to be part of this exhibition, especially as it is a permanent one, meaning that our work will be on display for an extended period,” stated the Studio Tumpić/Prenc.

It’s worth noting that this project is not the only one that has been brought closer to a global audience through the Red Dot Award. Studio Tumpić/Prenc also achieved this in 2019 when the label for the “Latini” olive oil won the Red Dot: Best of the Best award.

As the recipient of this highest award in its category, it traveled to an exhibition at the Berlin Museum of Communications.
