Croatian Homeland War Movie Starts Shooting in Zagreb

warA TV film inspired by real events from the Croatian Homeland War in the 1990’s has started shooting on location in Zagreb. Number 55 (Broj 55), is directed by award-winning director Kristijan Milić, and will hit television screens in Croatia and abroad next year.

“We believe it will be an excellent work and that there will be a lot of interest for it, both in Croatia and abroad,” Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) said to Filmneweurope.com.

The film, which will cost a reported 853,000 euros to complete, recounts events from a reconnaissance mission undertaken by a group of Croatian soldiers attacked by Serbs during the 1991 war. The is script written by Ivan Pavličić with the television premier on HRT set for summer 2014 on HRT.
