Croatian Government to Order €300K Worth of Chicken Pate

CroatiaCroatia’s Ministry of Economy, headed by Minister Ivan Vrdoljak, issued a public tender on Thursday for a rather large order of chicken pate.

The Ministry is looking to get its hands on up to 40 tonnes of chicken pate and will let companies fight for the lucrative contract. The Ministry explained its decision for the large order by saying that they were part of  strategic stockpiling.

“These foods are used as an aid to survival in case of some disaster,” said the Ministry’s Public Relations office. 2.2 million kuna (300,000 EUR) will be set aside from the state budget for the order.
