Croatian Genius Lands Facebook Job

Social media giants Facebook have recognised the genius of Croatian Electrical Engineering and Computing student Anton Grbin, by offering the 23-year-old Croatian informatics champion a job.

Grbin, from Zrnovo on the island of Korcula on Croatia’s southern Adriatic coast, stood out after being invited on ‘work experience’ at Facebook’s San Francisco offices, and will take up a job at Facebook’s London offices in autumn. Grbin says that he has not had much contact with the creator of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg, other than a “Hi, what’s up, what’s up” at the office on San Francisco. Grbin has won many Croatian computer science awards and has been the top informatics student in the country many times, including winning a number of medals at the International Maths Olympiad. Besides possessing a talent for computers, Grbin is also an accomplished piano player.
